About Autonoe
Autonoe, also known as Jupiter XXVIII, and previously as S/2001 J 1, is a small natural satellite or moon of Jupiter. Autonoe is one of the outermost irregular satellites of Jupiter, which orbit far from the planet on highly inclined and eccentric orbits. Autonoe was discovered by a team of astronomers from the University of Hawaiʻi led by Scott S. Sheppard in 2001, and was named after the Greek mythological figure Autonoe.
